Misogyny

Misogyny, it's at the core of a lot of religions because initially most religions were about women, or rather controlling the breeding of women. In the end it was at root a means to bind a woman to a single man so that the man did not bring up other mens children. The penalties for adultery by women were rather more severe than they ever were for men, even Jesus had to deal with it, although he did it with dignity and sympathy pointing out it did take two when a woman accused of adultery was brought before him.
Yet as ever, some religions notably the religion of perpetual offence refuse to accept a woman is anything other than the equal of a man in many areas...
Telegraph.
A Muslim boys’ school is facing claims of segregation after advertising for a temporary science teacher but making clear that women need not apply.
The advert published by the outsourcing company Capita requested a “Male Science Teacher” to cover lessons, including some mathematics classes, until the end of the current academic year on a short term contract for up to £150 a day.
Secular campaigners said the advertisement was just the latest in a series of demands for religious customs and practices to be “accommodated” in the education system as a result of giving faith groups the power to run schools.
It follows a storm over allegations that non-Muslim female staff at the Al-Madinah free school in Derby had been forced to wear headscarves in line with strict Islamic practices.
There have also been concerns that girls at other Islamic schools are being required to wear full veils as well as questions over segregation in classes.
Capita argued that the exclusion of women could be legally justified but the advert was later withdrawn after a warning from the Department for Education over the need to comply with equality law.
And they wonder why muslim males have a very serious problem dealing with women as witnessed by the spate of grooming trials featuring muslim msales, the acid attacks and (dis)honour killings of muslim females who fall in love outside the family bounds.
Thing is, to the school they probably saw no problem in making the request, it fitted their mindset like a glove and they were probably surprised when Capita were forced to withdraw it.
Islam and muslims in general really need to realise that their religion is trumped by secular rules and that their perpetual affront at anything they believe is 'forbidden' by their weird set of rules by an ignorant paedo who listened way too hard to the voices in his head. You'd think society in general would have given them a hearty 'fuck off' by now save only that they've been pandered to by the political classes as their little brown brothers and by the moronic left as proto-socialists to the point where they honestly believe they can get away with anything including murder because utter mongs like Cameron will turn around ad tell us 'this isn't islam' when it clearly bloody is.
There is no place for islam in a civilised society, all other religions adapt and comply, islam by its very nature cannot hence the borders of blood surrounding any enclave of muslims that reaches a critical mass.
They failed this time, sooner or later they'll try again, unfortunately the fools that govern us may just let them get away with it...

Justice? I think not

So the murderers of Lee Rigby got their sentences yesterday and some believe justice was done.Michael Adebolajo got a whole life tariff and Michael Adebowale got 45 years. Essentially they'll be kept, fed and looked after by the prison system for the rest of their lives.
Telegraph.
The Islamist killers of Drummer Lee Rigby erupted into violence in an Old Bailey courtroom as they were sentenced for murder.
Michael Adebolajo, 29, and Michael Adebowale, 22, had to be manhandled out of court by security guards after being told by Mr Justice Sweeney that their crime was a “betrayal of Islam”.
I don't know where the judge got his definition of islam from, but it's definitely not the one in the quran, hadiths or surahs. What those barbarians did was islam pure and simple.
Angered by the judges’ comments about Islam, Adebowale stood up and shouted: “That’s a lie. It’s not a betrayal of Islam. You don’t know what Islam is.”
Yup and they'd know.

After the defendants had been removed Mr Justice Sweeney resumed his sentencing to give Adebolajo a “whole-life” tariff, meaning he will spend the rest of his life in jail.
Adebowale was given life with a minimum term of 45 years.
Justice would have been those two taken out of court, given a sex change (to turn them into something islam hates), hung and left for more than 24 hours (because this is dishonourable in the quran) and buried under a crossroads along with several pigs carcasses just to ensure of the final humiliation and 'pour encourager les autres' as the saying goes.
I'm sure there's going to be a lot of bitching from the left and civil liberties morons about the length of the sentences and probably a good few wastes of taxpayers cash to lawyers to get them overturned and reduced. Frankly I feel my solution would work better and save us all a lot of money spent on those who simply don't deserve it.
Plus if other barbarians know what we'll do if we catch them, well perhaps they'll learn the lesson.
You don't pander to barbarians, you crush them before they crush you.

Not too surprising

Seems that almost half of the people who have indicated a preference to vote Ukip would not under any circumstances vote for the Tories under Cameron. Nor would the Tories be able to get 40% of skilled workers to vote for them, which is a surprise as most skilled workers don't care too much for Labours tax grabbing antics either.
Mail.
Almost half of Ukip supporters would never vote Tory, a poll reveals today.
It found Liberal Democrat voters were more likely to switch to the Conservatives.
The Ipsos MORI survey casts serious doubt on David Cameron’s attempts to win over Ukip supporters, with 48 per cent of them saying they would not back the Tories, compared with 43 per cent of Lib Dems.
Amid calls from Tory MPs for a renewed focus on blue-collar conservatism, the poll also found that among skilled working-class voters, 40 per cent say they would never back the party.
But David Skelton, director of Renewal, a campaign group that aims to broaden the appeal of the Tories, warned that in many working-class areas – especially in northern towns and cities – it had become ‘counter cultural’ to vote Conservative.
The point was made bluntly yesterday to Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg in South Shields, a constituency that has never returned a Conservative.
When the North East Somerset MP, travelling with Channel 4 News, asked a voter why she backed Labour, she replied: ‘Because David Cameron’s a p****.’
The woman was obviously being kind as Cameron is far worse, he's a traitor to the UK in his denial of their being a problem with our membership of the EU. Other than that the woman's an idiot for thinking Millipede E's Labour would do anything other than run the country into the ground again (and again)
Cameron has only his self to blame of course, his track record of broken promises before the election actually cost him the election against the most unpopular Labour government in living memory and his association in the Coagulation with the Lib Dems has been nothing short of ruinous with their lack of support for boundary changes, slavish love of the EU and various left wing tax and spend policies. Not that Cameron had much of a choice, he'd made his bed and was forced to lie in it if he wanted power.
The problem with the North is that it suffered from massive job losses due in part to Thatcher's policies, something they refuse to accept as inevitable as propping up industries via the state is essentially unviable. But Thatcher was the one in charge and many in the North refuse to accept what happened would have been exactly the same no matter the party in power.
Cameron doesn't even have the sense to realise that ridding the UK of Scotland would strengthen his hand, it would certainly keep Labour and Lib Dems away from the levers of power for a while. But no, he's trying to keep Scotland in by bribing them at the rest of our expenses. Still, it's counter-productive so might make them go anyway.
No, Ukip voters won't vote for a party led by a man whose word cannot be trusted, in the end, it's as simple as that.

It's not a smear if it's true

The links between Harriet Harman, her husband Jack Dromey, a former Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt and the National Council for Civil Liberties (a left wing pressure group) to the odious Paedophile Information Exchange have been hitting the headlines for a week or so now, though to me this is old news as The Slog had more or less exposed the entire sordid episodes several years ago although then the MSM didn't want to know and their discovery really wasn't as it was no secret.

Still we do have the usual damage limitation exercise going on...BBC.
Harriet Harman has accused the Daily Mail of running a "politically-motivated smear campaign" against her.
The newspaper has reported that a civil liberties group she used to work for had links to paedophile rights campaigners in the 1970s and 1980s.
The Labour deputy leader told the BBC she had never been an "apologist for paedophilia" and had sought to protect children from abuse during her career.
But the newspaper said she had failed to answer its questions.
From 1978 to 1982 Ms Harman was legal officer at the National Council for Civil Liberties, which was the predecessor to campaign group Liberty.
The facts remain that PIE was granted affiliated status before Harman, Dromey and Hewitt's watch, afterwards however they may not have known (as unlikely as it seems) about PIE's agenda, indeed, the NCCL described PIE – granted formal ‘affiliate’ status from 1975 to the mid-Eighties – in glowing terms as ‘a campaigning/counselling group for adults attracted to children’. Yet nothing was done and no, despite Harman's claims there weren't thousands of affiliates either.
If anything what the NCCL did was typical of many left wing groups looking for votes under any circumstances by allying themselves to the most odious of people or causes, you can see it today with their slavish support of Islam despite Islam's misogyny, homophobia and xenophobia towards anything other than Islam which has meant the left dropping like a stone their previous support of gay and Women's rights in their scramble to make new friends and use them.
Should Harman and the others apologise?
Well the current chairman of Liberty who developed out of the NCCL has apologised for past links and as Harman and co were enablers to a certain extent of PIE's status in the NCCL then perhaps yes they should. But they also know the price of an apology, apologies means the mud has stuck and it would be difficult for Harman to ressurect her career if she did apologise.
So expect a lot more weasel words before anything concrete happens.

Not our problem

I had planned on blogging about Westminster wasting its time debating why holidays in school holiday periods are so high, but I figure most of you know about supply and demand even if the morons who put their name to the petition don't. What grabbed my attention though was the governments position on what happened in the Ukraine, an area that really is none of our business.
Mail.
George Osborne offered the Ukraine a blank cheque last night to turn the ravaged country around.
The Chancellor said the UK is willing to pour millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money to prop up the new government.
Speaking at a meeting of G20 finance ministers in Australia, Mr Osborne said: ‘We are here ready to help just as soon as there is someone at the end of the telephone.
'We should be there with a chequebook to help the people of Ukraine rebuild their country.’
Last night it was unclear how much cash might be provided but Britain is likely to contribute to stability funds being put together by the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.
Since the uprising on Saturday ousted the Russian-backed President Viktor Yanukovych, Ukraine no longer has access to a £9billion handout from Moscow.
Ukraine may need a bailout since it has a dire ‘CCC’ credit rating, but British taxpayers may not take kindly to assisting a country with huge natural resources including oil, whose former president spent millions on a vulgar palace while his people suffered.
The Ukraine is simply not our problem and interfering between the EU and Russia haas turned the place into a very nasty troublespot just waiting to happen. The EU has thoroughly antagonised Russia by backing the rebels when it should have kept its nose out and the ever fragrant Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission was clearly as ever out of her depth representing the EU in negotiations.
As it is, writing a blank cheque to what is essentially a kleptocracy led by a corrupt cabal (and yes that's what the rebel leaders are) seem like just handing money over to another set of crooks as opposed to the Russian backed crooks.
There are historical reasons for the Ukraine being split on its east/west ethnic lines with memories of the Soviet Unions abysmal record still deep in peoples minds, however the counterbalanced fascistic tendencies that grew out of this when the Soviets collapsed are not exactly a welcome addition to the EU's influence.
In short we should let them sort out their own problems and not just offer them a blank cheque.
Sadly no one seems willing to listen to common sense in the political classes, after all, it's only money isn't it?

Wrong sort of charity

Basically I'm against the government giving any of our cash away to charities, mostly because they tend to give it to charities that I simply wouldn't give anything too. However they've sort of made a rod for their own back when other charities who aren't dipping their snouts into the public trough get on their high horse and demand a spot...
Mail.
The man who set up a charity project to help British terrorist victims, after his son was killed in an IRA attack in England, last night attacked David Cameron’s ‘offensive and thoughtless’ refusal to throw it a cash lifeline.
Colin Parry, whose 12-year-old son Tim was killed in the IRA bombings in Warrington in 1993, spoke out after the Prime Minister turned down a plea for £150,000 to rescue his Survivors For Peace project.
Mr Parry asked Mr Cameron and Northern Ireland Secretary Theresa Villiers for the money weeks before the scheme is due to lose its Lottery funding in April.
But he said he was shocked by a letter from Number 10 advising him to use the internet to find the money.
‘It is offensive for Mr Cameron to suggest that after nearly 20 years of running a charity I don’t know where to get money,’ said Mr Parry.
‘I do know and I have been to them all. His thoughtless response suggests he doesn’t see us as a priority. He expects us to muddle through, but we can’t.
‘Unless we find a wealthy benefactor we will have to make our staff redundant and cut adrift all the people who depend on us for support.’
Unfortunately for Mr Parry (or indeed the Mail) he doesn't realise that Survivors For Peace project is the wrong sort of charity in that it is not in place to tell the government what the government wants to hear unlike Alcohol Awareness and the various anti-smoking charities who are virtually all taxpayer funded to lobby in the government to do what it wants to do anyway. Nor like Oxfam and others does it lobby the government to spend our foreign aid budget where the government intend to bribe aid overseas countries kleptocrats.
And sadly worst of all, Survivors For Peace project doesn't offer a huge salary for its executive directors aka friends of the political classes as easy money for life jobs.
In short Survivors For Peace project is a genuine charity although relying on the National Lottery for funding was probably a mistake. The National Lottery is really only interested in trendy causes that involve minorities not actually helping the heroes of a forgotten war.
So Mr Parry's charity will fold because it's not the right sort of charity and is helping the wrong sort of people. That's a pretty damning indictment of the government and the political classes, I doubt they'll care though, not like there's anything in it for them, which I presume is how they judge a charities worth...

Not a Darwin award but we need a new term for this

I swear society is getting stupider, not just in the ingenuous (for a given level of ingenious) way that people kill themselves to get a Darwin Award. I think it's just the way that in certain instances where they've taken to social media and placed their lives upon it rather than to say the local grass in the pub...
Express
A PAIR of dozy thieves have been jailed for more than 18 years - after being caught posing with their loot on Facebook.
Jonathan Dougan, 26, and Matthew Murphy, 23, stole cars, motorbikes and bottles of champagne before posting snaps of their swag on the popular social media site.
Their first spate of thefts came just minutes apart when they pilfered luxury vehicles including a Triumph Bonneville motorbike and a Mercedes 'A' Class.
In another raid, the thieves drove away with a Mercedes E820 worth £30,000, before Murphy uploaded snaps of the car to his Facebook account.
It's like they didn't believe uploading visual evidence of your crimes on the internet would not get you noticed. After all, considering the number of stupid prosecutions for people mouthing off whilst being white and the sheer number simply willing to be offended by proxy no matter what you do.
Still other than coming out of prison in so many years still able to breed I suppose we should be grateful that some of the parasite class do appear to be getting dumber, it might eventually put them in the position of being incapable of doing anything illegal without being caught.
Still, no doubt the are others clever enough not to advertise their ill gotten gains on social media....

Debates

The Boy Clegg threw down a challenge to the Leader of Ukip the other day to debate an in out referendum on the EU. Farage's response was simply to say only of Cameron and Milliband were involved too.
Express.
NICK Clegg has challenged Ukip leader Nigel Farage to a "once and for all" live debate on Britain's membership to the Europe Union.
Ukip's new director of communications Patrick O’Flynn, the former chief political commentator for the Daily Express, said the idea was "interesting" but wanted further assurances about other participants.
He said: “A televised leaders’ debate for the European elections is a very interesting idea. But it would be ridiculous if Nick Clegg were to refuse to extend his invitation to David Cameron and Ed Miliband too.
“So we want to know from Mr Clegg that Mr Cameron and Mr Miliband are invited as well and that he has in mind a comprehensive and live leaders’ debate on a major broadcast outlet. We would also like to hear from Mr Clegg that he is ready to resume his support for an In/Out EU referendum, which he supported before the 2010 general election, but abandoned soon after.
One can only imagine that Clegg is getting desperate to pick up the pro EU vote in the UK as Cameron and Milliband are struggling against Ukip to a degree over the EU with both parties having their own branch of EUskeptics within the parties who are clearly at odds with the leadership who seem to believe the sun shines out of the EU's orifices.
It has been pointed out to me that perhaps Clegg is being wise here in attempting to gain the pro EU vote for the EU elections, but overall a debate is highly unlikely way to gain votes as although Clegg did well in the last elections leadership debate his performance thereafter in Parliament showed that words alone do not make a good politician.
Whilst I must admit I'd like to see such a debate, I rather fancy that when the ground rules are sorted (should anyone agree to such a debate) that it would be deadly dull and the truth would probably be the biggest casualty.I don't want to vote on personalities, I want facts and facts about the EU are very hard to come by, we don't even know for sure how much it costs us to belong for one thing.
Still, it might be interesting to at least see Clegg and Farage go head to head...

Put your hands in your own pockets first

One of the richest landowners in the UK holding several palaces, shopping centres and other assorted properties in it's portfolio demanded that taxpayers shell out on making sure that people do not go hungry. Yes, the Church of England and its well paid bishops in their palaces are telling those of us who are less well off that we have a duty to make sure that those 'suffering' under benefits cuts do not go hungry.
BBC.
Forty-three Christian leaders, including 27 Anglican bishops, have signed a letter urging David Cameron to ensure people get enough to eat.
They argue that "cutbacks and failures" in the benefits system are forcing thousands of people to use food banks.
The End Hunger Fast campaign called the situation "truly shocking". It wants a national day of fasting on 4 April.
But the government said it wanted to help people "stand on their own two feet" by cutting welfare dependency.
The letter comes after Archbishop of Westminster Vincent Nichols, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, warned last weekend that welfare reform was leaving people in "destitution" and labelled it a "disgrace".
These people are clearly big fans of the magic money tree theory of socialist thinking where they seem to be under the impression that the government can just magic up money and make sure that it gets to their favoured cause. They seem to forget that someone has to pay for this and that person is the taxpayer who are often enough struggling to make ends meet themselves without getting their rent/mortgage paid for by the state as well as health benefits. Perhaps the church ought to take a good look at their founder and copy his words to his disciples and actually get out there and heal the sick and feed the poor rather than sitting on their multi-million pound empire and telling the rest of us we have to pay for someone else's food?
Perhaps if they lived their lives in that manner it might actually be worth listening to what they say if they tell us there's a problem?

If it sounds too good to be true...

There's an ad going the rounds on the radio I listen to at work (not by choice but I can't switch my ears off) it's called 'Drive like a girl' and is making the case that since the EU decided it was illegal for car insurers to charge less for women as they are statistically safer drivers then if you stick a little black monitoring device under the hood of your car and prove you are a safer driver then they'll give you a discount after a couple of months.
In theory it ought to be a boon to safer drivers... in theory.
Mail.
Drivers who sign up for black box car cover can be hit with a £100 fine from their insurer if they speed, a Money Mail investigation has found.
Black box technology, which monitors the safety of your driving, is supposed to be the new way to get discounts on your insurance.
Drivers are told they will be rewarded with lower premiums if they have good habits.
But people are discovering that reductions are impossible to get and are being eroded by other fees.
Sell your car, switch policy or breach the smallprint, and you could be hit with hefty penalties.
With most insurers you’ll receive warnings if you break rules such as regularly driving at 40mph in a 30mph zone. If you ignore these alerts and carry on driving poorly, the insurer can fine you on a case-by-case basis.
In some instances, Money Mail understands, the fines can be as much as £100. In the worst cases it will cancel your policy.
In other words unless you drive perfectly all the time kiss any discounts away. The damned things have even been set off by speed bumps even at ridiculously low speeds.
Nor if you're too young will they help if you have an emergency that requires you to go out at night, or indeed if you simply have to swerve out the way violently to avoid another car or heaven forfend accelerate out of trouble.
And that at the end of it is always the problem with technology that doesn't have a human check and balance. It records data, not circumstances, it doesn't understand merely reports.
As ever the reports that it could save you money are being over-exaggerated and the reality is that unless you drive perfectly (which won't save you from those who don't) you are unlikely to reap the benefits from what is essentially a spy in your cab.
What will happen is what's happening now, people will assess the risks of paying a fortune for insurance against the cost of a fine for being caught.
At the moment it's cheaper for the young to take the chance, it's not like the police are out in numbers to catch them...
What a truly awful world we've found ourselves in...

Quality of life

We all get old and as we do the burden we can put on the Health service increases exponentially, not in every case of course, but as a generality it's pretty close to the mark. There was a time when doctors used to try and move heaven or earth to keep someone going long past a term my ex wife (a nurse) considered to be a quality of life, well that was until Liverpool Health devised the conveyor belt 'Care' pathway to off unfortunates. Unfortunately it's now getting worse, the NHS is considering denying anyone old necessary drugs if they aren't a productive member of society anymore.
Mail.
Patients who have had a ‘fair innings’ could be denied life-saving drugs under proposed health reforms.
The plans would mean experts taking into account whether there is a ‘wider societal benefit’ to giving a patient crucial medicines.
The NHS rationing body, Nice, fears the Department of Health proposals could see younger people deemed a higher priority for drug treatments because they have more years ahead of them – potentially contributing more to the economy – than the elderly.
The reforms, which are being consulted on, would see new drugs assessed for the first time based partly on whether they would benefit society as a whole – not just the patient.
For example, a drug that helped people to live longer in an expensive care home, or on welfare, might have a ‘negative’ social value not outweighed by the benefit to the individual, because such patients take more from society than they can put back.
Not quite euthanasia, but certainly heading that way even if they would deny such a claim.
What I believe it should boil down to is that elusive quality of life, if the drug enables someone to live their life a bit better with all mental facilities intact then I don't believe societies needs should even be considered at all. This is someone who has probably contributed into the ponzi National Insurance scheme all their lives and is worth treating, not left on the scrap heap simply because they are 'inconvenient' or expensive.
As a libertarian I'm generally with Ayn Rand where it comes to individual rights...
Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities (and the smallest minority on earth is the individual).
Pensioners may not be a minority as a group but when it comes to the decision-making process they are effectively disenfranchised from it due to health and non working status. In other words people are deciding just who does and doesn't get the treatment they need at a level way above most of us and they are starting to prioritise only those who work.
Yet we're still told the NHS is the greatest thing in the world...
Getting harder to believe by the day since Labour's reforms allowed bean counters in to monitor every penny.

It's just words

Politicians will say anything if they believe that the public will respond positively too it, though I rather suspect Millipede E wishes he'd kept his trap shut about climate change judging by the amount of criticism he got over it in the comments section of national newspapers.
Still you know a load of guff is being pronounced by a minister when he says the government should stop spending aid money in richer countries no matter the cause, because not spending money and joined up thinking are not something that politicians are renowned for.
Telegraph.
Ministers have been ordered to stop squandering British aid on wasteful projects, including climate change schemes in wealthy countries, the Telegraph has learnt.
Justine Greening, the development secretary, fears Whitehall departments, in particular the Department for Energy and Climate Change, could undermine public support for overseas aid by funding poorly-run projects in middle-income countries that do not need help from British taxpayers.
In a letter seen by the Telegraph, Mrs Greening warns ministers they risk breaching international protocols and face investigation by Britain's aid watchdog if they spend continue to spend money on anything other than relieving extreme poverty in the world’s poorest regions.
Mrs Greening fully supports the Government’s target of spending 0.7 per cent of GDP on foreign aid. But the warning that some departments are may be misusing aid will bolster Conservative MPs who want David Cameron to divert some of the £8bn a year aid budget on flood relief in Britain.
Thing is I could possibly understand helping those countries in extreme poverty if the aid actually got to where it was supposed to go, but the evidence is quite plainly there that it just goes to line pockets of local warlords and the pre-existing government.
However she doues have a point on some projects such as £15m to cattle ranchers in Colombia, the world’s 30th richest country, to help cut flatulence in cows, giving aid to Belarus a very nasty dictatorship and essentially wasting millions on 'climate change' lunacy which often does more harm than good.
Aid should be by private charity, not government and certainly not government funded fake charities. Who we give aid too should be a personal choice and never never in the hands of politicians and enviro-extremists or as part of someone's pet project.
Granted I know we have legal obligations to pay out so much via the G20, but we could easily just dump the EU aid budget which is politically motivated by their own vicious brand of lunacy.
Charity begins at home, our politicians should remember that.

They can't help themselves

To many in the warmist set the recent floods have been a Godsend, finally a vindication that their ludicrous religion has some basis in fact rather than their fevered imaginations (and computer predictions)
And predictably we have money grabbing politicians piling in to declare it must be so and we'll spend your cash on a snark hunt because it's not your money but ours to do with what we want.
BBC.
Climate change is now an issue of national security with extreme weather threatening homes, livelihoods and businesses, Ed Miliband has warned.
In an interview with the Observer, the Labour leader said the country was sleepwalking towards a crisis.
This, he said, was because of a failure to recognise that climate change was causing the storms and floods.
His comments come as flooding is still expected in many parts of the country despite a let-up in the stormy weather.
There are 14 severe flood warnings - indicating a "danger to life" - for south-east England close to the River Thames and two for the Somerset Levels, which have experienced weeks of flooding.
Pretty much all a pack of lies, the flooding in the Somerset levels was a result of an EU environmental diktat which meant the silt from the channels couldn't be put back on the land so the UK government via the environment agency decided not to bother. In essence it was environmentalists who caused the flooding there by adding into the EU diktat a set of conditions that could not be economically met.
As for climate change causing the flooding, well as usual Millipede E has jumped the gun...
Mail.
One of the Met Office’s most senior experts yesterday made a dramatic intervention in the climate change debate by insisting there is no link between the storms that have battered Britain and global warming.
Mat Collins, a Professor in climate systems at Exeter University, said the storms have been driven by the jet stream – the high-speed current of air that girdles the globe – which has been ‘stuck’ further south than usual.
Professor Collins told The Mail on Sunday: ‘There is no evidence that global warming can cause the jet stream to get stuck in the way it has this winter. If this is due to climate change, it is outside our knowledge.’
In other words just bad luck and piss poor flood defences coupled with building on a flood plain.
You can be sure the warmist enviroloons will ignore the Met Office as Professor Collins views will be ignored in their rush to try and prove their point and grab more cash off us.
Sadly this lack of ethics is something we've come to expect from the watermelons as well as the Labour party.
It's all a cash grab and will be wasted on stuff we neither want nor need...

Watermelons

Green on the outside red at the core, the perfect description of the enviroloon movement which is as much about wealth theft distribution (rich to poor) than about saving the planet, You can see how intolerant like socialists they are of any rival or competing counter culture based on opposing views with the words of Natalie Bennet the Green party leader.
Express.
CLIMATE change sceptics in the Cabinet should be sacked to show the Government is serious about tackling extreme weather events such as the recent flooding, the Greens said today.
Green Party leader Natalie Bennett singled out Environment Secretary Owen Paterson, Chancellor George Osborne and Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles as prime contenders for David Cameron's axe.
Her comments, which have been branded "quasi-fascist" by opponents, came as the Party announced a 10-point plan to improve the UK's flood resilience.
Other proposals include an end to the "revolving door between the fossil fuel industry and government" and a demand the Government pays more attention "to advice from the Met Office and the Climate Change Committee that climate change will lead to even more such events in the future."
Ms Bennett explained to Express Online it was time politicians pulled in the same direction.
She said: "In terms of the consensus, 97 per cent of climate change scientists are in agreement about man-made climate change.
Lots of people believe in climate change, but and it's a big but, not that many of us other than enviroloons and politicians with snouts in the birdmincer trough actually believe in man made climate change especially since the complete and utter failure the of the computer models designed to show it along with the evidence that they faked the results and rounded up the results to try and prove their case.
Having like socialists having their 'perfect' world ridiculed and proven to be a pipe dream, the Greens have reverted to another trick of socialism, if there is no opposition then we can do things our way.
So calls are being made to rid the politicians of heretics non believers in a call similar to the occasional purge in the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea etc. Pretty standard stuff in its days and shows the Greens in their true colour, red to the core. Don't like dissent, ban it, don't like peopl questioning your policies, ban them, don't like individual thinkers ban them, question party policy ban them.#
Next step with be labour camps up in Siberia Kielder where opponents of the state can work off their crimes for questioning the sanity of the Green religion.

A different meaning to the word charity...

Muslims are by their religion obliged to give so much of their earnings to charity, it's called Zakat which means alms. Under most conditions this is a good thing, and I have no problem with it being used to help out other muslims. However there are some muslims who stretch the term charity way past any reasonable bound until the pips squeak...
Mail.
Charity aid convoys are at the centre of a counter terrorism investigation over fears they are supporting Al-Qaeda militants in Syria.
Tens of thousands of pounds in cash has already been seized from relief vehicles travelling from Britain to the war-torn state.
Security services fear the huge relief effort is being hijacked by radical Islamists determined to support networks of violent jihadists.
British Home Counties suicide bomber Abdul Waheed Majeed, 41, was among those who travelled to Syria under the banner of charitable work.
He joined an aid convoy after his Crawley mosque raised more than £140,000 to help refugees in just a few months.
But Majeed left them to kill himself by driving an armoured dumper lorry laden with explosives into the gates of Aleppo prison last week.
Whilst generally I have no problem with muslims going to Syria to take part in the civil was there (whilst having grave doubts on letting the mad buggers back in here) I do believe that a lot of charitable donations to Syria are nothing of the sort and that much of it as ever is funnelled into weapons and explosives. It also bothers me that some Christian churches are supporting this moronic move considering what the muslim rebels have done to Christians living there. You'd think by now that people would realise that the quranic verse
5, 51 "O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for your allies: they are but allies of one another and whoever of you allies himself with them becomes, verily, one of them; behold, God does not guide people who are unjust."
Means exactly what it says on the tin, some muslims may be friendly, but their religion can twist them into something that is most unlikeable. Nor does there appear to be any sign of when the internal switch goes from normal to jihad which is a tad worrying.
Again and again we seem to be drawn into matters which are none of our concern. Sure I realise that where people choose to send their personal donations is their choice, but people ought to at least check out the basics of where the aid might actually end up...

How not to do something

Day after day I look through newspaper reports to see if there's something I fancy commenting on, I give my opinion and let the rest of you decide if I'm right or wrong. However occasionally something comes along which is breathtaking in its insensitivity. After all if a close one to you dies suddenly, you'd expect a degree of sensitivity from the police...
Express.
THOUGHTLESS police rang a woman on her mobile to break the news that her husband had died instead of telling her in person.
Ruth Williams, 31, was working at a pub near her home in Tremadog, north west Wales, when she got a missed call on her mobile phone on January 2nd.
When she called the number back and was told that her husband Dave, 35, had suffered a fatal asthma attack at a neighbour's house, she initially thought that someone was playing a sick joke on her.
She said an officer at the police station later apologised, but that no-one had explained why she was not told in person that the father of her two children had died.
She said that after she received the missed call at work on the day her husband died, she rang the number back and a man introduced himself as a police officer.
Mrs Williams said: "He asked me if I was with Dave, and I said to him, 'No, I'm at work and he's at home.'
"But then he said: 'Are you in a relationship still?'
"I said 'Of course, I'm his wife.'
"He then told me that Dave had died. I swore at him and threw the phone to my friend and work colleague who spoke to him. I thought it was a sick joke."
No doubt it's from the same group that trawls twitter and facebook for the crime of speaking your mind, but really this was utterly crass, occasionally people find out by accident a loved one has died, but you expect the police to at least turn up in person to confirm the details. And yes, it's quite possible to trace a mobile to a specific location, it's not like the police have never done it before.
No one likes to be the bearer of bad news, particularly if it involves a death in the family, but to do it by phone when they aren't that far away? Granted Australia I could perhaps understand, but then it's usually a relative, not the police.
North Wales Police ought to be ashamed of themselves, but somehow other than a mealy mouthed apology at a later date I doubt anything else will happen. It will be a classic case of 'lessons will be learned' until it happens again.

A dish best served cold

Revenge that is where someone will wait years if necessary to get their own back for some slight, upset, betrayal or simply years of being told who to vote for...
Express.
A FAMILY of diehard Labour supporters are fuming after a “wicked battle-axe” widow left her husband’s £770,000 fortune to the Conservative Party.
Violet Baker, who appeared to be politically neutral all her life, was attacked yesterday for handing Ray Baker’s money to his sworn enemies in their biggest ever political bequest.
She cut her relatives out of her will, gifting the inheritance to the Tories with a remaining £2,000 going to a friend who cared for her in her dying days.
Her furious sister-in-law Elsie Clark, 88, said: “My poor brother would be spinning in his grave if he knew Violet had given his hard-earned cash to the Tories.
“Violet knew our family was staunch Labour.
“Our dad was very strict about that. He said, ‘As soon as you’re old enough to vote, vote Labour.
“All that money was left to her and she didn’t want us to get our hands on it, she was a wicked woman, a battle-axe.
“I don’t know what she was politically. She wouldn’t go out to vote in an election.”
I rather suspect politically she was neutral, she just didn't vote because of the pressure she'd get of her husband to vote Labour'  after all, that's what their father told his family to do and they appear not to have been capable of making their own minds up and are the classic would vote for a donkey if it wore a red rosette Labour supporters.
Still I can't think of a better way to wind up a family who had been brainwashed to vote Labour all their lives and it's not like it was their money anyway despite the squeals.
And that's the nub isn't it? It was her money to do with as she wanted and handing it across to people whose politics she did not agree with was probably the best way to give them a collective heart attack.
Good on you Violet, I hope that wherever you ended up you're having a giggle at the apoplexy in your husbands side of the family.

Charity begins at home

With the Somerset Levels under several feet of water in some places, the Thames bursting its banks upriver of London and even in my neck of the woods the Medway flooding between Yalding and the tidal lock at Allington the pressure is mounting from some to grab from the foreign aid budget and spend it on the people in this country who have been betrayed by the EU and enviroloon led Environment Agency.
South China Morning Post.
The leader of the UK Independence Party, Nigel Farage, urged the government yesterday to redirect part of its foreign aid budget to flood victims at home.
On a visit to the flood-hit county of Somerset, Farage complained that Britain gives aid to India despite New Delhi having its own space programme.
Flooding and landslips have completely cut off rail routes to large parts of England's south west as storms continue to batter southern Britain.
"It seems to me that the aid budget is about us giving charity overseas. When you've got an emergency in this country, it's time to say that charity begins at home," he said. "The international aid budget is £11 billion [HK$140 billion] a year. All the government have offered so far is less than 1 per cent of that in the form of £100 million.
"If, suddenly, that was 5 per cent or 6 per cent, you'd be talking real money."

Of course there's the usual lunacy from some who believe spending UK cash abroad to reduce 'climate change' will be the best way to rip us off
Telegraph.
Britain’s international aid budget will help reduce flooding in the UK by addressing the causes of climate change abroad, Eric Pickles has said.
Yes that is the enviroloon line that our money spent abroad might have prevented the flooding. The sort of lunacy that prevented dredging to siphon off the excess water quickly and wouldn't allow the silt to be used to raise land (That's the EU for you putting wildlife above people)
It's now reached the stage where £11 billion is being handed out to kleptocracies and countries who don't need it. This cash would be better spent on us and used as the occasional bribe to sell hardware abroad not handed out to warlords and corrupt politicians.
Foreign aid is a luxury we can no longer afford along with muslim extremism and the EU which are the most pressing problems facing this nation other than the growth of the public sector and fake charities.
It's time to take a chainsaw to state spending and remove billions from the tax cache to be spent on things we simply don't need.
Somewhere along the line the political class hijacked the budgets to spend on pet projects, they need to be reined in and if necessary punitively fined to claim back the waste they've lavished upon themselves.
The boy Clegg is going on about a mansion tax (again) he'd be better off destroying the states largesse on organisations like quango's and the environment agency.
Except he won't, he has a finger in that pie via the EU as well.

Neverending corruption

There are constant tales doing the rounds about the way immigrants fool the system in order to stay, pass their driving tests, apply for extra benefits, pass medicals even exams. Some are anecdotal, others appear to be the plain unvarnished truth...
BBC.
The Home Office has suspended English language tests run by a major firm after BBC Panorama uncovered systematic fraud in the student visa system.
Secret filming of government-approved English exams needed for a visa showed entire rooms of candidates having the tests faked for them.
The English Testing Service - which sets the exams - is one of the largest language testing firms in the world.
Home Secretary Theresa May said the BBC's evidence was "very shocking".
For the last year, Panorama has been filming undercover, following a network of agents helping people obtain student visa extensions through fraud.
Each year, around 100,000 non-EU students get their visas to stay in the UK extended.
The student visa system has been a way to gain access (and vanish) to the UK since it was allowed to be expanded by the previous Labour government.  Since then a flood of students have come in from various non-EU countries on very flimsy educational contracts and a good few it seems have vanished or as in the case above had their visa extended because someone else took their test for them.
I don't know why Theresa May found it shocking, it's certainly no surprise to me or probably a large percentage of the indigenous population who have known about these scams for years.
Essentially a lot of these schools hit on a money making racket to get students to pay upfront for an education yet did not check to see what happened when they got here and dropped off the system. The whole system was lax from top to bottom and was simply a way for illegal immigrants to get into the UK and vanish in the hope (a pretty good one) that the Border Agency never caught up with them.
Again and again it appears that our immigration service and border controls are not fit for purpose as it appears anyone can simply waltz into the country on some sort of visa and then vanish or in the case of the schools get someone else to do the test for you to extend your stay.
It appears not a day goes by where a story about immigrants (illegal or otherwise) hits the headlines about them abusing the system. A common sense approach would have been instant deportation and citizenship revoked for them should they be caught and convicted of committing a crime say within the first ten years of their residency and instant no questions asked deportation if they are here illegally or under a temporary visa.
However we do not live under a common sense system, we live under a legalistic one undermined by the Human Rights Act.
We're storing up a mass of trouble for future generations and still we fiddle whilst Rome burns...

Well at least he didn't hang on...

It was interesting that the immigration minister resigned after finding that he was employing an illegal immigrant. Not the fact that he resigned, that was a sort of falling on your sword thing to do and quite honourable in avoiding claims of hypocrisy. No, the most interesting thing was that it only took him a week and he didn't try to justify it either simply that he made a mistake in not checking the immigrants credentials properly.
Telegraph.
Mark Harper, the Immigration Minister, has resigned from the government after it emerged that he had employed a cleaner who was in the country illegally
Mr Harper said he discovered last week that she did not have indefinite leave to remain in the UK and decided that his position leading the government’s immigration reforms was no longer tenable.
The MP, seen as one of the rising stars of the Conservative Party, conceded that he should have checked his cleaner’s background “more thoroughly”.
He announced his decision to quit the government in a letter to the Prime Minister, in which he apologised for any “embarrassment” he had caused.
Very, very different you'll admit to other MP's of both Lords and Commons who have tried to hang on for months if not years with scandals hanging over them as the 'boy's' club closed ranks around them. Indeed Mr Harper probably took the wind right out of Labours sails by simply resigning after the facts became known rather than be subjected to weeks if not months of criticism at the ballot box during PM's question time.
Not that Labour have exactly anything to be proud about with illegal immigrants as they allowed the farce of the Border's Agency to develop as well as opening the floodgates to uncontrolled legal immigration as well which allowed several illegals to vanish into the melting pot once their visas expired.
Unfortunately whilst we remain part of the EU our borders will remain dangerously open allowing illegals who somehow make it into the EU free access across the Schengen Zone to the border at Calais. Indeed Greece at least was known to give illegals temporary visas on the grounds that they went elsewhere.
Still kudos to Mr Harper for not dragging out his eventual resignation over an embarrassingly long period.
As for illegals, well until we get control of our borders that's a problem that isn't going away any time soon.

Define extreme

Tim (Birdmincer) Yeo believes extreme Tories might just put voters off for voting for the party. After being deselected by his own party due to mostly not attending to his constituency and his insistence on green birdmincers being placed all over the countryside for his own personal profit he believes that somehow or other it's the fault of people he believes to be extreme, but who are probably just applying common sense with who are responsible for party numbers dropping.
Telegraph.
The Conservative Party is increasingly dominated by a “shrinking band” of members with “extreme” views on issues like Europe and same-sex marriage, an ousted MP has said.
Tim Yeo, who was this week deselected by the Conservatives in South Suffolk, said the party’s dwindling membership was leading it to take positions that are increasingly at odds with wider public opinion. He was the second sitting Conservative MP in a week to be sacked as a candidate by local activists, following the deselection of Anne McIntosh in Thirsk and Malton.
Mr Yeo’s critics said his deselection partly reflected his controversial business interests in the renewable-energy industry, but the MP suggested the move showed a wider trend within the party.
Interviewed by The Telegraph, Mr Yeo said that grassroots Conservatives were seeking to force MPs into ever-stronger opposition to the European Union and same-sex marriage. He has taken a moderate line on both issues.
“We have a shrinking membership which means you tend to get predominantly among those remaining activists people with probably more extreme views than the average Conservative voter and that applies on issues like the EU, on issues like gay marriage,” he said. Mr Yeo also warned the Conservative Party in Parliament was becoming increasingly unmanageable on issues like Europe, demanding that David Cameron take an impossibly hard line on the EU.
On the matter of same sex marriage, a lot of people believe that marriage is a male/female institution and a religious set of vows. Forcing churches, mosques and synagogues to perform same sex marriages was never going to be a vote winner despite what the gay movement believed. You want to alienate people, that was a good way to do it, if you want to persecute people and force them to act against their beliefs than you can't expect them to remain in a political party that ignores their views.
The EU is a contentious issue but mostly because the EUphiles of whom Cameron and Yeo are members and a lot of the Tory grass roots are anything but and do not like the government simply rubber stamping EU diktats and especially do not like the promise of a referendum taken away from them no matter how weasel worded the apology was. Nor does the fact that some people want out of the EU repel voters as Mr Yeo believes, otherwise Ukip would not be growing at both the Tories and Labour's expense.
No, what's put off voters from the political process is the fact that the political classes do not want what the voters want and have been caught like Mr Yeo with their hands in the till both literally and figuratively through directorships of 'green' companies sucking up taxes without giving value for money.
We're put of because they are lying, greedy pigs who have time and time again put their own benefit ahead of the countries and Mr Yeo led the bloody charge!
One day we'll hang them all...

Must?

I don't know why the Tories are insisting that Scotland remains part of the UK, it's not like they are loved up there and there would be definite advantages to the Tories for simply telling them to go.
Still we have Cameron using the 'must' word to try and encourage us all to tell the Scots to stay...
Telegraph.
English, Welsh and Northern Irish nationals should all urge Scottish voters to reject independence, David Cameron will say on Friday, exhorting people throughout the UK to join together to “save the most extraordinary country in history”.
The Prime Minister will use a speech to encourage people not to stand idle as the Scots debate independence before their referendum, beseeching them to “do whatever it takes” to maintain the Union.
Before the vote later this year, the rest of the UK should send the message: “We want you to stay”.
Unless the Scots can be persuaded to remain part of the UK, everyone will “wake up in a different country” after the referendum, the Prime Minister will warn.
Personally I reckon the Scots will stay, if only because it's easier to blame the English for all their troubles. However as for encouraging them to stay, I'll do no such thing, this is their decision to make, not mine and if I had a casting vote on them staying or going, it would be bye bye Scotland. Even the Sun tried it on saying that 54% of the UK wanted them to stay, that's not exactly encouraging for what Cameron believes is an extraordinary country. It gets worse when 86% turned around and said we'd be well shot of them if they cost us any more money to bribe them to stay.
So it's up to the Scots, not the rest of us, I rather think they'll do well on their own but I might be wrong as their figures are somewhat suspect as to what they'll have if they do leave and I rather expect the rest of the UK will want them to take their fair share of UK debt with them. Nor do I believe they'll like the cost attachment for paying back the UK investment in North Sea oil come to that.
Still it may be that Cameron is playing a double bluff here by encouraging them to stay knowing what the vast majority of Scots think about Tories. It might just be that he wants them to go and that's the best way he can think of to make sure they do...

Easier to ban children

There is a bit of a political furore over a plan to ban people from smoking in cars with children in them. The problem with this sort of law, like the speeding laws, the mobile phone ban, even the seatbelt laws is that they are basically unenforceable. People will often ignore laws that they do not think are relevant, useful or fair quite routinely, yes a few get caught, but that doesn't stop the basic ignoring of laws that bansturbators have put up no matter how hard they try to promote them.
Mail.
Two more Cabinet ministers have raised doubts about plans to ban smoking in cars carrying children.
MailOnline has learned Business Secretary Vince Cable is to vote against the new laws while Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith is understood to have concerns about how the ban would be enforced.
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt says there is a compelling case for outlawing smoking when youngsters are in a vehicle ahead of a planned free vote, but he faces growing opposition from senior Tory and Lib Dem ministers.
One of the things taught in military schools and pounded into officers both commissioned and non-commissioned  is that you never give an order you know will be disobeyed. It's something that do gooders and government ministers ought to take on board when planning intrusive legislation. Even the case made about fumes in cars seems a little exaggerated due to most modern cars having air-con and filtration in their venting systems, indeed diesel fumes are a far higher risk of cancers than cigarette smoke.
What will happen if this law is passed will be the usual mass disobedience by those who simply don't give a damn what the government want and will take a chance (a pretty good one) on not getting caught.
It would actually be easier for the state to ban children from cars than enforce this law but as with a lot of things, this is probably only the thin edge of the wedge and if it becomes legislation then it will no doubt be expanded to homes, fizzy drinks, fatty foods and whatever the cause de jour of the do gooding bansturbators are fretting about this week.
Oh I'm sure there are some out there perfectly prepared to rat out friends, family and strangers due to their own inbuilt intolerance, but I bet you that this ban will be mostly ineffective as there won't be enough people around to actually enforce it and speed cameras will not work with this one...

An honourable man

Like many others, I chose to opt out of the NHS scheme to harvest my private medical data and sell it on to interested parties use it to identify poor care. If I trusted the NHS with my data it might have been a different story, however knowing the mission creep which happens in public bodies along with the NHS's recent history with 'clerical errors' I do not believe for one second my data is safe with them.
Still it comes as a surprise that two GP's (one remains anonymous) have decided that they too do not trust the NHS with their patients details.
Mail.
A rebel GP faces having his practice shut down after vowing to opt all of his patients out of a flagship NHS scheme to harvest their medical records.
Under the scheme, private medical information will automatically be extracted from patients’ records unless they opt out.
But there are growing concerns over the data collection project, with critics saying the public has not been properly informed about it.
And yesterday it emerged that Health Service bosses threatened to shut down Dr Gordon Gancz’s GP surgery because he pledged to keep his patients’ details off the database.
Dr Gancz, who has been at his Oxford practice for almost 40 years, accused the NHS of using ‘blatant bullying’ tactics to ‘bulldoze’ doctors and patients into complying with the scheme.
The GP told how he was sent a ‘threatening’ email warning him that he would be ‘in breach of his contract’ if he did not automatically opt his patients in to the scheme.
He said it also contained the ‘Big Brother-ish’ demand that he remove a statement on his surgery’s website which warned patients that he was ‘concerned’ about the scheme and told them: ‘We have decided to assume that all our patients wish to opt out of this data extraction.’
It's interesting that the NHS believes it has a right to such data and that they've chosen to go on the offensive over a doctor choosing to opt out his entire practice. Again and again we have learned that public bodies such as the DVLA  have on occasion sold details to private companies about those who use their system. Simply put, public services and institutions are like many private companies lax with their customers private details in that they see no problem with selling it to those who make an offer for it.
Now whilst the NHS will only use your date of birth and NHS number to identify the people on the database there are ways and means to get around this and sooner or later you just know that your area will be targeted by someone using the database as a statistically relevant fund of knowledge to sell you health aids. I did notice when I turned 50 that the sheer amount of junk mail selling me stuff for pensions and funerals went through the roof along with adverts for prestige motoring the insurer for over 50's.
Put it this way, if it's out there sooner or later the NHS will be tempted to sell it on and it will come back to bite you.
The record speaks for itself...

Delusions of grandeur

Ukip must be getting right up the noses of the establishment, no small achievement by a party which does appear to have its own set of odd balls, though admittedly actually deals with them unlike the utterly corrupt big three. They've even managed to upset some German nobody who believes that they are a threat to peace in Europe.
Telegraph.
The rise of Eurosceptic groups such as the UK Independence Party hampers the cooperation that has kept the continent at peace for decades, Germany’s foreign minister said.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier also dealt a blow to David Cameron’s attempt to recast the European Union membership deal, suggesting Germany and Britain were not “pulling in exactly the same direction”.
Speaking on a visit to London for talks with William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, Mr Steinmeier said he was concerned about a drift towards scepticism that has aided parties such as Ukip, Germany’s AfD and the French Front National, and led Mr Cameron to offer an in/out referendum.
Instead of moving further apart, European nations should cooperate ever more closely, he said, adding that history has shown that when European countries do not have close relations, military conflict can arise. “History before the First World War was a history of not talking to each other, of nationalisms which could no longer be [tamed] by reason,” Mr Steinmeier said. “These dangers have to be forever banned.”
Well I have some news for Mr Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the peace in Europe was actually maintained by NATO and the allied armies, not the EU and before NATO the biggest threat to Europe was German militarism. The EU was never and has never been essential in maintaining peace in Europe, it was originally a trading cartel with delusions of grandeur that have sadly never died in the face of reality and now appears to be bolstered by out and out lies.
Nor would I expect if the Tories do hold a referendum on the EU and we do get the chance to leave (unlikely as Cameron will never allow it) I rather doubt Europ will descend into war, although a major European war is a bit overdue as there are too many competing national interests which the EU does not help with by attempting to suppress them.
If anything it's the EU driving Europe towards war by insisting on ever greater political unity and leaving ordinary people seething at their arrogance in pushing them to one side with their decisions.
Ukip are not the problem here, the EU is and always will be the problem so long as it attempts to try for political unity.
It will be the EU that leads countries to a European war, not those who wish nothing to do with it.

Not fed up exactly...

Apparently Defence Secretary Philip Hammond believes we're fed up with long wars in foreign lands and he's partly right, but as ever he tries to spin things in a manner consistent with the governments thinking...
Mail.
Politicians must pledge that future wars will be short with clear goals that will convince a ‘war-weary’ public, says Defence Secretary Philip Hammond.
A decade of warfare in Iraq and Afghanistan has led to a ‘climate of scepticism’ and an ‘irrational fear’ about military intervention in broken states, he says.
Even the threat of terrorism from volatile foreign countries no longer convinced British people that war was necessary.
His comments – made at the weekend during a debate at the Munich Security Conference – came as it emerged that he had urged ministers to lobby unions to back Trident.
Mr Hammond fears that Labour will ‘wobble’ over the need for a nuclear deterrent and has called for the unions to press Labour on the threat this would pose to Britain’s shipbuilding industry.
But his warning of an ‘irrational’ fear of war among British voters will provoke more controversy. ‘There is a climate of scepticism about engagement in failed or failing countries, a fear of getting entrapped in longer term, deeper forms of engagement,’ he said.
‘Increasingly we need to present intervention as time-limited and with strictly defined ambitions.
‘We are at a point in the UK where there is a war-weariness after ten years of engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I believe that we're actually weary of being drawn into wars and conflicts with countries that are actually none of our business. Yes I could sort of see a point about being drawn into Afghanistan, but only to destroy the terrorist training camps funded by the Saudi's. After that we should simply have monitored the place and occasionally nipped in to level them as and when necessary. As it is, we forced the Taliban out of Afghanistan and into northern Pakistan and destabilised their border region leading to more radical islamic influences causing problems in that country.
As for Iraq, weapons of mass destruction or not, we have achieved nothing there save only to radicalise more Muslims and have caused internal problems for other religions which believe it or not were actually protected to a degree by Saddam Hussein.
If and it's a big if we are to wage a war we need a clearly seen set of objectives and also we need a clearly defined exit strategy, a sort of job's done lets bugger off and leave them too it move.
We have no interests really in the Middle East, certainly nothing worth fighting over and if we do then it should be the equivalent of a smash and grab raid. No troops on the ground at all, simply bombs from the air, drone strikes if you will.
That's why the UK public did not want involvement in Syria, not because we thought it would be a long war, but because it was none of our damned business if Syrians want to butcher each other.
That our politicians can't see that is a given, in this as with many things the general public is at least a decade ahead of them.
Our only interest military wise should be a few protectorates abroad and the French, no one else should interest us from a military point of view.

No s**t Sherlock...

It was amusing to read about a report mentioned in the Daily Mail which effectively put the boot into multiculturalism and none integration of various ethnic groups in the UK as allowed by previous government administrations as an exercise in vote grabbing and electoral gerrymandering.
Mail.
Ethnic minorities should be encouraged to integrate into society rather than living in neighbourhoods with people from their own countries because it makes them 'feel more British', a study has shown.
Researchers from Essex University and the University of Oxford have found that minorities living in mixed areas were five per cent likely to identify with being British than those who didn't.
People who lived separately from their own ethnicity were also just as likely to take part in community activities, help out their neighbours and trust those they lived with as those who segregated themselves.
The study of 4,391 people, 3,582 of which came from ethnic minorities found that, for white Britons, being poor was a bigger factor in breaking down trust between neighbours than race.
'Diversity is really good for minority members in Britain,' the report's co-author, Neli Demireva, said. 'If they live in diverse scenarios they identify more with Britain. Contact is good because they don't create reactive identities.'
The use of the word diversity is of course in direct opposition to its use by the leftards and libtards who hate this country and wish to change it into something it is not. Their idea of diversity is akin to ghettoism and allows for different communities to wall themselves apart and will protect their right to do so with the extreme reaction of a rabid dog to anyone suggesting that they should mix in and get on with the rest of us.
Of course most minority groups do and it's amusing that the report doesn't focus on the 'M' word communities who are using their religion and tribalism to bring a little piece of their shitholes from over there to over here.
Of course you have to be careful about focussing on the 'M' word communities, they have a tendency to threaten with death anyone being mildly critical of them and are ably assisted by the moronic left who believe it's cultural and besides they vote for them and hate Israel too so what's not to like.
By permitting non-integration for so many years we've built up a ticking timebomb within our country that will probably end up in a violent confrontation at some stage, particularly if we allow members of a certain community who have been trained in arms by their terrorist supporting brothers abroad to come back here.
Non-integration will end in tears, hopefully not ours, but I have my doubts.

So don't let them come back #2

Learned a bit more about the radical islamists from this country and France fighting in the Syrian civil war. Seems there are a good few more than was first feared.
Express.
AS MANY as 700 Britons are fighting with Al Qaeda linked extremists in war torn Syria, France’s President Francois Hollande warned today.
He said a similar number from France had also travelled there, making the issue one of the most serious facing his country and the UK.
The two countries have agreed closer cross-Channel co-operation to keep track of potential jihadists.
Intelligence services and counter-terrorism experts worry that home grown fighters will return from Syria radicalised and ready to use violence as a means of achieving their goals.
The figure of 700 Britons in Syria is almost double the most recent expert estimate.
There are reports of these people being radicalised and trained as fighters although I rather suspect anyone going to Syria to fight was pretty radical enough.
Thing is, we don't need these people coming back and practising their new skill set here, unfortunately the likelihood is that they will and will even radicalise more fighters by becoming their role models.
I know the government can't or won't do it due to international pressure, but these people have no business being allowed back in the country and their passports should be revoked.
We have enough problems with islamists in this country without allowing another bunch back who see the solution to any problem as to kill it. No these are not soldiers, they have no discipline other than the gun, they will not be useful members of society when they do come back.
So don't let them back...
Simple.
